Mountain sorrel can be found in the tundra in the Arctic so this tells you something about how hardy it is! It grows to a height of 30cms in tufts and produces small green flowers and heart-shaped leaves. It can be grown in sun or partial shade and prefers a moist growing environment. The leaves can be eaten raw in salads or cooked though due to the levels of oxalic acid should not be consumed in excess.
